Texas Country Singer

 

This “Creole” French and Spanish speaking country girl was born in the Crawfish Capital town of  Breaux Bridge, Louisiana and raised in Houston, Texas. She began developing her country sound and vocal skills by entering into country music talent competitions and singing on some of the best opry stages around Texas.  Donna was twice named “Best Country Entertainer of The Year” by The Magnolia Jamboree Country Music Association.  She was voted “Best Female Modern Country Entertainer & Vocalist of The Year” “Best Of Texas Search” hosted by The Lone Star Country Music Association. While claiming a title for “Most Sexiest Female” in Houston, Texas.


Donna is the only African-American female country artist to perform at the world renowned Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo for several consecutive years on the same ticket with Alicia Keys, Frankie Beverly Featuring Maze and with Natalie Cole, Kem, George Straight, Brooks & Dunn, Gretchen Wilson, Charlie Pride, Clint Black, Rascal Flatts, Pat Green,  Kenny Chesney, and Houston’s own Beyonce’ Knowles. 


MILITARY SHOWS: 
Donna has performed the grand opening show for The Army’s huge “Welcome Home Soldier Celebration Concerts” in Fort Hood, Texas. With over 20,000 in attendance, she has shared the stage with national recording artists like Joan Jett & The Black Hearts, JaRule, Xscape, Grupo Niche, Keni Thomas and special guest speaker T.D. Jakes.  For her support of the soldiers and their families of “OPERATION IRAQI FREEDOM II” and “PHANTOM WARRIORS” Donna received special recognition from  Lieutenant General Thomas F. Metz, Commanding General III Corps and Fort Hood,  Furthermore, The Directorate of the "MWR" (Moral, Welfare & Recreation) presented to her a "Commitment To Excellence" medal for her exceptional performances for troops returning from Iraq.


Her performance for “The Heritage Invitational Rodeo” in Lawton, Oklahoma commanded a standing ovation from the 1500 Fort Sill Soldiers who were in attendance. She also gave a hot sizzlin’ performance on Belton Lake as she shared the stage with national recording artists Lil’ Joe & The Familia’ and country singer, Tracy Lawrence at the annual acclaimed “Fishin’ For Freedom” Concert an event that’s held annually which benefits children who have lost a parent in the war. 


Donna had the honor of being presented with “Medals Of Excellence” presented to her by Army Sergeant Major Kenneth O. Preston, III, Corps Sergeant Major Ciotola, and 1st Calvary Division Sergeant Major Noble.








Donna has performed on stages featuring Country, Zydeco, Blues, R&B and Spanish music and is currently featured on Jabo, Texas Prince of Zydeco’s new CD entitled “Southern Choice.”
